Executive Summary
Item NOM 01 of this Council agenda, deals with a Notice of Motion from the Mayor and Deputy Mayor to transact the business of the Council agenda items scheduled for 25 June 2014. If that motion is carried, a subsequent motion will need to be moved to cancel the Ordinary Meeting scheduled for 25 June 2014.
That should Item NOM 01 of this agenda be carried to transact the Council business scheduled for the 25 June 2014 meeting to this Extraordinary meeting, then Council cancel the Ordinary Council meeting scheduled for 25 June 2014.

REPORT
In accordance with Clause 6.1 of Council’s Code of Meeting Practice, the Mayor may call an extraordinary meeting of Council if the Mayor receives a request in writing signed by at least two Councillors, one of whom may be the Mayor. Such a request has been received and signed by the Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
The purpose of the meeting is to transact the business of the Council agenda items for the 25 June 2014 meeting and the motion is being dealt with in Item NOM 01 of this Council agenda.
If Item NOM 01 of this Council agenda is carried, a subsequent motion will need to be moved to cancel the Ordinary Meeting scheduled for 25 June 2014. This report has therefore been prepared for Council’s consideration, in the event that Item NOM 01 is carried.
